JULIAN FIRE MORNING UPDATE
I left the RV park this morning at 6:30 AM to start work, and I drove into town to get a look at the burn area. I saw an observation aircraft(OV-10 Bronco) flying about 1000 feet over the site. I passed three Conservation Crews that were leaving the area. The fire had laid down extremely well through the night, and I could only see a couple of hot spots close to the ridge of the mountain. Smoke was coming from a valley behind the ridge, but I could not see much activity from my location.
I made my log haul down Banner Grade, and returned around 8:40AM and passed more fire crews that were leaving the area. I also noticed that the local CDF station had all of its trucks in their bays. With these indicators I believe that fire crews have this fire under control.
The humidity is forecast to be in the single digits in our area. The good news is the Santa Ana winds did not start blowing this morning as scheduled. With no strong winds blowing out of the desert the fire crews are at an advantage in fighting the fire.

JULIAN FIRE UPDATE
At about 9:30 PM we drove into town to get a first hand look at the fire, and we were surprised to see the whole mountainside behind town covered in spotty flames.
It looks like the fire had been burning for several hours before we heard about it, and had made its way from the ridge a few miles behind town, down along the face and into a valley. This is an estimation as it was dark and no land features were visible.
The Santa Ana winds have been blowing all week, and tomorrow is forecast to be the worst fire condition day yet with extremely low humidity coupled with very high winds.
Fire resources have been moving past the RV park since about 6:00PM. I did not hear any Air Tankers during the daylight hours, but they will be making runs at first light tomorrow. As we drove around town we saw fire crews from all over SOCAL staged in strategic positions for the morning scramble. We recognized CDF, San Diego City, US Forest Service, and the local crews.
Looks like they'll be busy tomorrow

RV REPAIRS-FIRE BURNING IN JULIAN
Smooty and I are changing a leaking fuel pressure regulator. None of the chain parts storeS knew what we were looking for, so I called Winnebago and they said, "Call Chevrolet". Chevrolet said, "Oh yeah we got it. Two-hundred dollars". At best this thing looks like a twelve dollar part. I looked on the internet and found a Holley replacement that Kragen had for $20.00. Everybody else wanted about $45.00
Anyway, it's good to do a little maintenance because we are not sure how much longer we will be working here, or when we will have to evacuate since there is a fire burning behind the Julian Market in town. Fire trucks have been screaming by for the past half-hour. We will post more when we hear.
